Grace Bible Church – Port Orchard, WA

Grace Bible Church

It has been a great 6 months since the last update, and a lot has happened in our church and the ministry.

We have been moving forward in the building update in several ways. The first was to take out the pews that were in our sanctuary, and replace them with highly functional chairs. This allowed us to utilize the sanctuary in different ways, as our setup now has the potential to be more versatile. We can and have moved the chairs for VBS, weddings, funerals, and more giving us some much needed freedom.

We replaced most of the carpeting throughout the upper level (foyer, sanctuary, offices, library, and classrooms), with beautiful new carpeting to replace our tired carpet that was there for many years. We also removed a fireplace and chimney to better utilize some office and classroom space.

It was very exciting to start our Home Fellowships this fall (our small group ministry) in 4 different homes throughout the week. Through such an overwhelming response, we added one group that we did not originally intend on, yet God blessed us with a couple willing to step up in a short amount of time. This ministry truly suits our vision statement as a church; “building people into intimacy with Christ, into community with one another, and bridges into the community” drawn from Ephesians 4:12-13. We have seen new families being pulled into our GBC community and growing into Christ. We have also seen families with a long history in the church reaching and meeting people that they did not know well before. As a whole, we can see growth in people’s spiritual walk as we collectively seek to apply Christ to our lives.

As the fall has come, we have seen the “regular” routine of ministry return, and we are very excited to see what God has for us in the coming year.
