Greetings from Bethesda Church in the lovely Twin Cities!
What a wonderful summer! Not only have we enjoyed marvelous weather but we had the blessing of somany great activities with others. We enjoyed having everyone with us for the Family Bible Conference!
It was a blessing to see everyone from the surrounding area and having all those great speakers teach us from God’s Word. It is great to fellowship with other believers who are like-minded! Thank you to all who made the effort to come and make it such a profitable time!
Another part of our summer is our Vacation Bible School which we had from August 4th to the 8th. The theme this year was God’s Love which we discovered on SonTreasure Island. Captain Kooky (Pastor Mark Matychuk), Brad Krumbs (Pastor Brent Befus) and Coco Banana (Bethany Jones) interacted with Pearl Shelfish (Cassi McGillick) as she selfishly sought to obtain the Kooky family treasure. On the way, however, she discovered the true treasure—God’s love.
We had 170 kids come through the VBS this year. We had skits, crafts, games, and lessons for the kids. On Wednesday we were able to share the gospel with the kids and a total of 19 kids made a decision for the Lord. We count it a blessing to be able to reach out into our community and engage their kids in a fun, engaging, and meaningful way. There is no greater work than to be bringing the light of the gospel to those who have not heard or made a decision for the Lord!
