This is the home of our church nestled in the western suburbs of greater Milwaukee. This building was built by the people in 1980. We are so thankful for the craftsmanship that went into this building. It is our place of worship, Bible studies, and fellowship. God has given to us a congregation that is growing spiritually and now average about 125 each Sunday.
On March 9 we had our 80th Annual Business Meeting which reminds us that we have a beginning going back to 1932 under the leadership of Pastor Charles F. Baker. J. C. O’Hair began with a Bible study in downtown Milwaukee in about 1927 before it became an organized church. Over the years there have been a number of church splits with the last one coming in April 1988. Pastor Les Takkinen, the seventh pastor of this church came on October 1, 1988 and has passed his 25th year here in West Allis.
We are that on April 13, 2014 Pastor Randy Brown will began his full time pastorate alongside of Pastor Les. He has been working in the secular world as a software engineer and has a long tenure at Wells Fargo in our area. He has been working part time as pastor for the past five years; at first only 8 hours a week and then 20 hours a week. We are thrilled to have him become a full time pastor.
Pastor Randy graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1989. He began being discipled under Pastor Les shortly after his first Sunday at Grace Bible. Later Pastor Randy
attended Berean Bible Institute and received his diploma in Advanced Biblical Studies (a three-year program) in 2008. He and his wife Susan have three daughters and live in Mukwonago. Two of his daughters are in college and the youngest is in middle school.
Also on March 9 we are thankful for two young men that will be beginning a three-year term as elders of our church. Brad and Pete have both grown under the discipleship of Pastor Les. They have been examined and interviewed for this position and have been found worthy of the leadership role.
If you are in the Milwaukee area visiting during the summer months our Celebration Service begins at 10:00 a.m. We would love to greet you and enjoy worshiping with you. May you have a very special week as you walk with the Lord!
Remember 1 Thessalonians 5:18: “In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
