Grace Gospel Fellowship (GGF) exists to serve and help our churches and our pastors. Since the churches and ministries of the GGF are interdependent and autonomous (self-governing), the GGF does not control the operations or the local congregations nor does it own church buildings.
GGF was founded by a group of pastors from nine local churches in the early 1940s. These men shared a common doctrinal statement and sought to be further linked for collective action and better communication. All of our ministries are Biblically sound and in accord with the content of the church epistles. That is, they are consistent with both Pauline truth and action. Since apostolic authority is no longer in existence they function with the consent of the persons and ministries involved.
Please note the following:
Paul counseled churches struggling with problems: dispensational issues in Galatia and Rome; personality problems in Philippi; philosophical problems in Colossae; and moral issues as in Corinth.
Paul counseled pastors. The letters to Timothy and Titus are filled with advice on personal things (2 Tim. 3:14), ministry matters (2 Tim. 2:2) and a host of other things.
Pastor placement can clearly be seen in the sending of Timothy and Epaphroditus to Philippi (Phil. 2:19-30) and Titus to Crete (Tit. 1:5)
Share Builders and Pastor’s Subsidy show care for other assemblies as do the offerings for the saints in Jerusalem (Rom. 15:26-31) and concern for the care and support of Christian workers in 1 Tim. 5:17-18; Phil. 4.
Communications were conducted in the best means possible for that day - personal envoy (1 Cor. 1:7), official correspondence (1 Cor. 7:1) and gossip (1 Cor. 5:1). Today it is through computers, telephones and faxes, the internet (this web site).
Books and writings were part of their ministry and life (1 Tim. 4:13). The letters to both the churches and the pastors are ample evidence of this.
Relationships with government and law were carefully exercised (Rom. 13:1-4; Acts 16:37; Acts 22:25 and Acts 25:10-12). Today we deal with tax law, nonprofit law, counseling laws, building codes and a host of other legal areas.
Fellowship among pastors (1 Cor. 16:7-18) and believers (Rom. 16:1) was encouraged. Because of the nature of our times we can expand that fellowship to national pastors’ conferences and annual conventions.
Interdependence is nowhere seen more clearly than in 1 Cor. 12:12-31 and Eph. 4:16. That each of the early assemblies was autonomous can be seen in the way in which the counsel given to them was written.
The preceding items are only examples to demonstrate the Biblical, Pauline grounds for our activities. Every day our lives and culture change. We as believers need to be ready to face those changes as they arise. GGF is here to help do that in any way possible. To do so requires collation and communication of information about the work and ministries of all of us to all of the others.
If we can be of help or service to you, please feel free to call upon us. We look forward to being of assistance.
