Time for the GGF Pastor's Conference

dr-london-150x225.jpgThe time for the annual GGF Pastor's Conference is fast approaching.  April 15 will be here before you know it (unless you are still working on your taxes). We are very excited about this year's speaker.  He is Dr. H.B. London who is a Vice President of Focus on the Family dealing with pastoral issues and relationships. After many years in the pastorate, Dr. London joined Dr. Dobson bringing a heart for the pastor and his ministry and family.  Dr. London's theme will be "The Power of the Call" (Matt. 4:18-22). His message titles are, "There Is an "I" in Integrity," "Married to the Pastor," "Checking the Ministerial Gauges," and "Finding "Joy" in the Journey." We live in difficult times and many pastors are struggling or suffering under the weight of the load. Dr. London comes to help ease that burden and rekindle joy of the call to ministry. If you haven't yet registered, you need to do so. There is a registration form on the GGF website or you can contact Cindy in the office. We would really like to see you here April 15-17 for a real time of refreshment and encouragement.

From the Family Bible Conference Committee Chair

I keep reminding myself that summer is coming.  For some of you that live in warmer climates, that’s an easier fact to accept than those of us in the Midwest.  Wow!  What a brutal February!

Enough about the weather…let’s think summer Family Bible Conference, July 1-4 in Boston, Massachusetts!  The conference speakers and workers are making their preparations, and I want to remind you to make your preparations as well.  The early-bird registration deadline of March 31 is fast approaching, so now’s a great time to lock in your spot at the conference.  It’s also a great time to follow up with those from your church that may have expressed an interest in coming after seeing the promo DVD.  Remind them of the early-bird registration deadline and encourage them to get their registrations in.

This year’s conference is shaping up to be great, so I hope to see you there!

John Lowder

Check out the new website

In case you haven't checked out our website recently (ggfusa.org), some updates have been done to it and it's more user-friendly than ever before.

Included on the website are some registration forms in case your brochure was misplaced.

We have yet to be able to register and pay for the conference completely online, but hopefully that will be the case in the future.

New Forum

Jeff Schimp from Glacier Hills Bible Church is moderating a forum for Pastors and their wives.

The name of the Forum is "Prokope "

Jeff describes the forum, "Given the opportunity to give a name to  this “Forum” I selected the title “Prokope.”  As you can see above the word is found in I Timothy 4:15  and speaks of progress.  According to Vines Dictionary the word was used of a pioneer cutting his way through brushwood.  The word also has the meaning of “advancement” or “furtherance.”  The word also occurs in Philippians 1:12 and 25."

"Our purpose in this forum is to help one another advance or progress as individuals and as ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  By using the web forum you will have opportunity to post questions or thoughts for others to read, be encouraged by or respond to. As I moderate I will be working closely with my wife Becky when I feel her input would be helpful, especially to ministry wives. So Pastors, please feel free to encourage your wife to participate."

"As you have opportunity please take a look at this Forum from time to time.  Perhaps you will find a place where your could encourage someone else or be encouraged yourself.  Together let’s PROGRESS."

"To get things started I want to begin by asking for response to the following question.  What book or scripture has God used in your life lately to stir your heart to a deeper relationship with Christ?  Why was this significant in your life?"

How to gain access to the forum:  First you must register on the ggfusa.org website.  Then you must request access from Cindy at the GGF.  After she sets your  permission, she will send you a confirmation email.

You can find the forum link under the "News & Info." menu link - OR CLICK HERE.

If you have any questions about using the forum, you can look at the "Forum Forum " forum.  ;)

The Pastor's conference is coming up.
